Reschedule Policy

Cycle Lloyds adheres to the policies and procedures established by the California Motorcyclist Safety Program. This course operates under the provisions of the California Motorcycle Safety Program by contract to the California Highway Patrol. There is no guarantee a student will complete or pass the course. All fees are nonrefundable.

Incompletion
Must pay the full course fee to reschedule and must start from the beginning.

  • Failure to appear to any portion of the course without rescheduling at least five (5) business days prior to the first class date.

  • Failure to pass either the written or the riding evaluation a second time. (Students failing once are rescheduled for a second attempt at no charge).

  • Standby students who do not complete training within six (6) months of the original enrollment date. • After participating in any part of the course, voluntary withdrawal without consent of the RiderCoach (walk away).

Partial Incompletion
Must reschedule on a standby basis only and must pay a rebooking fee of %50 of the full course fee.

  • After participating in any part of the course, voluntary withdrawal with consent of the RiderCoach, due to illness or other difficulty which affects ability to maintain reasonable control of the motorcycle. (Rebooking fee may be adjusted by circumstances).

  • The DMV requires students must be present for all the instructional minutes for the training course. Students who arrive too late to any session to gain instructional training, course and/or safety information, or who return late from break so as to disrupt the usual course of instruction will not be allowed to continue and will be considered self drop.

  • Documentation of eligibility to operate a motor vehicle (valid Driver License or valid Learner Permit or valid Certificate of Completion for Driver Ed.) must be provided to enter the first class session. Students who are unable to comply with this requirement will be considered self drop.

  • Students who arrive at a riding portion of the course without the necessary protective riding gear will not be allowed to continue and will be considered self drop.

Expulsion
No rescheduling allowed.

  • Operating a motorcycle is very dangerous. If a student is not allowed to continue the course for safety reasons because the RiderCoach reasonably believes that the student may injure themselves or another because they are unable to stay in reasonable control of the motorcycle, the student will be rescheduled to take the course one additional time at no charge. Rescheduling will be done on a standby basis only. A student dismissed a second time for safety/control will not be rescheduled and no refund will be made.

  • Grounds for immediate exclusion are: consumption of or being under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug prior to or during the course (including OTC or prescribed drugs with influence operation of vehicles), possession of any weapon on the training grounds, any deliberate act or intention of harm to any student or RiderCoach, foul or abusive language to any student or RiderCoach, abuse of the motorcycles or equipment provided, any unsafe act or willfully not following the directions or requests of any RiderCoach. A student dismissed for any of these violations will not be rescheduled and no refund will be made.

  • These policies apply to students who enrolled with Cycle-Lloyd's prior to January 3, 2012.  Students who enroll after January 3, 2012 fall under NCMT's policies regarding incompletion, expulsion and rescheduling.  Those policies may be found on the "Beginner" page of the NCMT website, linked here.
